Livin on a Prayer

So--this weeks song of the week is" Livin' on a Prayer"--why? Because I am living totally on the faith I have in God this week--and the power of prayer is something I am depending on sincerely right now...

This song makes me feel that getting through with faith is important--if I can say Bon Jovi would teach me that!

Here's the pic of the week too...it was Chinese New Year--so...here's a picture of Angie's Walnut Shrimp from the Chinese Restaurant "Fongs" in Draper. We love their food!

It is the year of the Ox!

Photo of the Week!

Here's my photo of the week (at least I think it's the one I want to use for now!). I got it skiing last night--and it made me happy because it is SNOW!!!
The song of the week is Carrie Underwood's Lessons Learned. I feel like I have learned so many lessons right now in my life--and I am grateful for each one because they are turning me into this woman I am becoming--hopefully I am turning into a great one! But--it's all from these lessons in life that we go through! Enjoy!

My First Time Skiing!

Thursday, January 22, 2009

I love having firsts--and tonight was my first night skiing! I am no good at all--it took forever till I was finally just going--but for some reason--I panic and make myself bail out and fall! But--my friend Bryant took me and taught me and I think we made progress! I just need to go again--but maybe after things recover a little (especially since my leg was bummed from frisbee earlier this week...)

I learned a lot about getting up and down...I also learned a lot about falling and pies...or pizzas, or whatever you want to call them. I am also learning about recovering from falling in the snow! At least snow is soft...

Me on the ski lift--I think I look nervous!
My teacher Bryant on the ski lift--I think he looks nervous too...

Bryant giving me a thumbs up plus lots of encouragement!

We survived! And I think I may try again--because I can only get better!

Park City Dancing!

Saturday, January 18, 2009

While we were wandering--we found an area with music and we decided to dance! I recorded some of the action--only problem was I should have recorded for longer!

This video makes me laugh every time I watch it--this is Bryant, Linda, James, and Stacey. Part of the video shows Peter and Adam as well...

Enjoy!

Star Gazing

Saturday, January 18, 2009

Angie and I decided that we needed to get out of the smog (it's horrible in SLC right now--it's even up our mountain...) and go to Park City to go star gazing at the Sundance Film Festival! We organized a group--and we went! We had a blast as we explored all evening.

We started out with Angie, Linda, Eric, Adam and me. We were starving, so we ate dinner that night at the Side Car Bar--we ordered the Italian Stallion Pizza--it was delcious. The bar was kind of a fun place to go too!

After dinner, we went and wandered--we saw lots of crazy things! We ended up meeting up with Bryant, Peter, Diana, James, and Stacey. It was fun to get such a big group together!

Here's some of the fun!

Riding the bus into town.

We went to the Draper Temple Open House this week and it was amazing! I love the temple and it was so beautiful inside of it!

Here's some pictures from that--I just love taking pictures, can't you tell?

My roommates! Linda, Angie and me. This is when we were waiting to go in.

Millcreek Canyon

January 14, 2009

We went snowshoeing! But--the snow was so horrible! It needs to snow so bad to get rid of the smog and clean the air! And give us some fresh powder up there in the mountains!

We went at night again--and it was fun...except we crossed the river--fortunately it wasn't very deep.

Here's some pics from our fun!

Caleb by the river we crossed...fortunately it was only a couple inches high...

People who went snowshoeing: Stacey, Tracy, Linda, Caleb, Dan, and me. The picture was taken by Jason.

I love this shot because you can see the snow moving.

Caleb and me--it's was his birthday the next day! Happy Birthday Caleb!

Photo of the week--plus song of the week!

I decided to go along with my photo of the week--I am going to treat you to a song of the week too! It's a song to help you see what mode of life I am in! This weeks song--The Beach Boys! Wouldn't It Be Nice...

Sometimes we get in those wishy washy moods--I'm in one now! But--it's important too to not wish your life away but to go after it! Ah....wouldn't it be nice...

Here's the pic of the week too...it is a bridge we saw when we were snowshoeing! We crossed the river before we saw the bridge...ugh!

The FHE Food Drive Competition

Monday, January 12, 2009

For family home evening our ward decided to collect food to try and help restock the Utah Food Bank. I love service!

Since we were to bring our own canned items--we decided to have a contest with building things out of our food items. We had two teams building--Team 1 and Team 2 (I know--original names, huh?!) Here's my team (Team 2) in action:

The results were this:

My team's (Team 2) tower

Team 1's tower.

My roommate Angie had a Crazy Asian party at our house last Saturday! We ate some good Thai and Asian food. It was delicious and fun. The only thing missing was the karaoke. But hey, RockBand made up for it!

Here's some pics from our fun!
