Scuba Diving

May 10, 2011

My friends Jason and Cory and I had bought groupons to go try out scuba diving. I may have fallen in love with a new hobby to attempt someday. Unfortunately, my pocketbook and it do not go together very well. Maybe someday!

The Tulip Festival

April 30 and May 4, 2011

I went to the Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival twice--once with my cousin Amanda and her kids Owen and Penny. And then I went another time with my friend Jason. I can't believe how beautiful the tulips are.

With Amanda--it was just neat to get out and see the beauty of nature. Here are some photos from when we went:

With Jason--it was strictly for photography purposes--and to see how beautiful the gardens were. Jason has a nice camera--so we went to play with that. Here are photos from his camera:

Photos I took on round 2:

I think tulips are becoming one of my favorite flowers. They are so beautiful--and a good reminder that spring is here!

Some Pondering

June 9, 2011

So--it is 12:15 am...and I should be sleeping. But I have had a problem lately...my brain won't stop thinking at nights--it is to the extreme that I have been having bizarre crazy dreams dealing with what is on my mind.

Right now I am contemplating the future. What is the best decisions for me at this time. There are so many ways life can go--it is exciting, scary, and a little worrisome all at once.

I have currently been working on filling out my application to the DODEA. That's the acronym for Department of Defense Education Activity. It involves teaching for the military on base somewhere in the world--from the US to foreign countries. It would be a fun opportunity for this adventurous girl to get out of dodge :)

But every time I start to think about this...I get distracted. But--I am easily distracted all the time. And I realize I like my contentment of the job I have and knowing I am getting better at what I am doing.

I guess time is the big factor in all things. And for now--I should do what is most important and get some sleep so this teacher can teach 54 first graders tomorrow.

3 more weeks and we finish this year. It has definitely been an interesting school year. And I am excited to start the next one!
