Nauvoo, Part 3

July 7, 2011

We got up early this day to go to the temple and do a session. But we wanted to see the Trail of Hope walk that the performers of the pageant put on recollecting pioneer experiences with the pioneers leaving their beloved Nauvoo. I loved the messages along each board too. They each had this phrase on the board--which I felt was important:

I loved the messages along each board too. They each had this phrase on the board--which I felt was important:
Exodus to Greatness--I feel like that should be life's motto--we are always on an exodus to greatness. Sometimes it is the letting go and moving on that is hard, I can imagine of this whole earth life--but in the end--what God has is the greatest gift of all!

After we went to the trail, Missy and I went to the temple to do a session. It is so beautiful inside. I am absolutely in love with the stars in the windows. I think they are gorgeous! We got to dress up in the workers locker room, so we got to see a little more of the temple. There were some beautiful spiral staircases through the temple as well. It's very old fashioned inside.

We saw the bagpipe band at least 4 times around the town that morning--that band had to have a set of lungs and legs! They got around and made it very realistic!

When we left Nauvoo, we went back to South Dakota that day. When we got to Missy's in -laws--I had the experience to catch my first fireflies. It was a bucket list activity. I caught about 6 of them. It was an amazing experience to see them.

The next day, Missy decided to show me Sioux Falls. There really were falls in that town.

After going to the falls, we played around the town a little more .We ended up going to a museum that had an Andy Warhol exhibit. They also had some cool sciency things--like using force to lift cars. We also saw a Mona Lisa cutout. They even had a doll of Van Gough that had a velcroed on ear. It was a fun museum.

The next morning, I flew back home really early. It was a fun time visiting my sister. She is an amazing girl and I'm lucky I got to spend some time with her.
