Climbing the Mountain

I have become a Jeep lover! I have complete and total trust in them!!! When Angie and I came home from church today--we hung some wind chimes outside of our new house...and they started to make a lot of noise! I went outside to see what was causing it--it was a storm!!! So--Angie and I decided to go storm watching. I knew the perfect place!

We hopped into my Jeep and headed up South Mountain. I drive up there all the time--but today I wanted to go to the top. I've been up there before and I knew how to get there--keep in mind I'd been up there twice with two different guys and each time I thought I was going to die. So--Angie and I headed up to the top. The second time I'd gone up previously--I'd driven part way until I got us stuck--then my friend Chris had to take over. We got to that same spot I'd gotten stuck in last year and I headed into it--to feel it happen again. Fortunately, my friend Chase and I have been off roading some recently and he'd made me drive a few roads carefully and we had talked a lot about maneuvering properly. I think Angie might have been scared--but I took a deep breath, and we tried again. We made it up to the top--no man needed!

The view was spectacular--we looked over into Utah county and saw Timp in the background. Then, we looked out into the Salt Lake Valley and saw the storm moving out. It was beautiful--I am so grateful God gives us opportunities to remember how much He loves us! I think I'm getting to where I'm not afraid to drive my Jeep anywhere--I just better not get too confident!
